LASER THERAPY

COLD LASER

Cold laser therapy, also known as low-level laser therapy (LLLT) or photobiomodulation therapy, is a non-invasive treatment modality that uses specific wavelengths of light to stimulate healing and reduce pain and inflammation. In animals, cold laser therapy can be used to treat a variety of conditions by promoting tissue repair and reducing discomfort.

Laser therapy helps tissue repair by causing the following:

  • Endorphin release

  • Vasodilation, which increases blood flow to bring in oxygen and cells involved in the healing process

  • Muscle relaxation

  • Decreased inflammation

  • Faster healing and repair

The main clinical benefits of laser use in pets include decreased inflammation, decreased pain, and improved wound healing.

The effects of LLLT are not thermal but photochemical reactions in cells, termed photobioactivation. LLLT produces its physiological and therapeutic effects by applying enough energy to disturb local electron orbits, initiate chemical change, disrupt molecular bonds and produce free radicals at the cell membrane to control the inflammatory response, promote healing and pain relief.

Dr. Ksenia uses the MultiRadiance human-grade laser called ActiVet. With 50 W of Super Pulsed Laser power, 300% more total power than its predecessor, and 900% more blue light, the MR5 ACTIVet PRO provides more power and faster treatment times without raising skin temperature, making it the safest high powered laser on the market.

The blue LED light accelerates wound repair and reduces bacteria in wounds, providing your pet with a safe, fast and drug-free recovery.

Multi Radiance Medical Super Pulsed Laser technology has been validated in vitro, in vivo, in controlled laboratory experiments, and in clinical practice. The multiple wavelength technology has been clinically proven to provide optimal treatment, safe for all skin pigmentation, without raising skin temperatures to dangerous levels—unlike Class IV and Class 3B lasers. Multi Radiance lasers have a Class 1M safety rating.
